Rita Carvalho Nunes

Rita Carvalho Nunes works alongside clients through every stage of tax litigation, anticipating risks and turning them into strategic responses.

She works across all stages of tax litigation, from administrative claims to arbitration and judicial challenges and appeals. Her clients include healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, real estate developers, investment funds, industrial groups, public institutions, and international companies navigating cross-border or sector-specific tax frameworks.

Rita also supports real estate transactions with both tax structuring and contract negotiation, particularly in energy and tourism. She is known for handling operations that demand legal precision, strategic foresight, and deep familiarity with overlapping fiscal and regulatory regimes — including sale-and-leaseback deals, asset transfers, and project management agreements.

At Gama Glória, Rita combines procedural strategy with clear communication and commercial insight. She plays an active role in mentoring younger lawyers and is committed to building collaborative client relationships grounded in trust and clarity.

Alongside her practice, Rita teaches at the postgraduate level, co-leading the Tax Litigation and Taxpayer Rights module at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She has also lectured on the taxation of electric mobility at Nova School of Law.

She holds a law degree from the Catholic University of Portugal – Lisbon (2008) and a master's in law and management from the Catholic University of Portugal – Lisbon (2010) and has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Law at the University of Lisbon (2017).
