Rita has been assisting both domestic and international clients on tax controversy matters across sectors (e.g. real estate and tourism, investment funds, energy, F&B and banking), on Property Taxes (including wind and solar farms), Stamp Duty, VAT, Corporate and Personal Income Taxes, at all stages of litigation (both administrative and judicial/arbitration), including litigation before the European Court of Justice.
Rita has also been advising clients on tax structuring issues regarding international transactions, particularly within the real estate sector.
Prior to joining Gama Glória, Rita was a senior associate at RRP Advogados, between 2018 and 2022, a lawyer at Clemente V. Galvão Advogados between 2012 and 2017, and a junior lawyer at Morais Leitão, between 2008 and 2012. She is co-author of several scientific articles in her areas of expertise.
Rita holds a JD (Catholic University School of Law, Lisbon ‘08), holds a Masters Degree in Law & Business by the School of Law and the School of Business and Economics of the Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon, 2010) and is post-graduated in Tax Law by the Lisbon University School of Law (2017)
